Magnesium lithium alloy has low density in the current structural metal materials. When lithium is added to magnesium metal, it generally contains 14-16% lithium, and its specific gravity is between 1.4-1.6, which is lower than 1.8 of general magnesium alloy. It is slightly higher than plastic density, with strength of 220-340mpa and modulus of elasticity of 40gpa. The damping is large, which is more than ten times that of aluminum alloy, that is, it can absorb impact energy and has good shock absorption and noise reduction effects. Magnesium lithium alloy also has outstanding performance in shielding electromagnetic interference.

In addition to being light, magnesium lithium alloy materials are characterized by being able to be plastically processed and formed at room temperature, such as mass production by rolling, stamping and other technologies, as well as casting and semi-solid injection molding.
